I want to take the opportunity to thank you all for sending BackToFrankBlack your Seven and One Profiles, we really appreciate the time you have taken to complete these and rest assured that all submissions will appear at our blog as soon as we are able. Today's journey into the thoughts of a Millennium fan come courtesy of Laura, podcast host and mistress of all things paranormal from Spooktalkular.com.

Frank and Laura began supporting this campaign in the very early days of our existence, before we begun to make a noise and enjoy the type of support we do today. They have never wavered in their support and to them, and others like them, we owe an immense debt of gratitude. And as we are sharing Laura's thoughts with you all today please join with me in wishing Frank, A Very Happy Birthday. So, from all of us involved in the BackToFrankBlack campaign Frank, here's hoping your day is a wonderful one!

THE CURSE OF FRANK BLACK WEEK DAY THREE: TRICK R TREAT?

Readers of Frank Spotnitz's Big Light Blog will know that X-Files fans have a penchant for mixing baking and the paranormal and not to be outdone we thought it long overdue that Millennium had a cake of its own, and now it does. Our good friend Laura, of the superb podcast Spooktalkular, donned her industrial strength oven gloves and borrowed Ricardo Clements' microwave oven for a spot of something wholesome. Want to celebrate the spooky season with an edible version of Frank's Jack-O-Lantern. Over to Laura...

THE HELLISH INGREDIENTS

1 box of Trick or Treat cake mix.
1 Pumpkin cake mold.
1 Can of white frosting or make your own (recipe below).
Yellow and red food coloring.
1 Tube of cake icing to decorate the face of the pumpkin cake or you can use a ziploc bag and fill it with your icing, snip the end off and pipe it onto the cake.
Last but not least 1 artistic soul who made this cake with lots and lots of love!


THE GOOEY BIT

Homemade frosting recipe:

1 cup shortening
2 teaspoons vanilla
4 cups powdered sugar (sifted)
4 tablespoons milk

THE NEFARIOUS METHOD

Preheat your oven to usually 325 or 350 degrees according to the directions on the box.
Grab a mixing bowl and mix your cake according to directions. Grease and flour your cake pan, I use Pam spray or something similar. Pour the mix into the cake pan and pop it into the oven and bake according to the directions on the box.

When it is done and while it is cooling mix up your frosting. I used two bowls, one for mixing the stem color and one for the actual pumpkin color. For the stem color, I used green food coloring but it is your preference as how to how dark or light of a green you want to use for the stem. I used several drops of green until I had my right color. I also dropped a few drops onto the frosting on the stem and used a toothpick to streak it through the stem to give it that authentic vine look... don't think you can actually tell in the picture but it did look pretty cool.

Next I mixed up the orange frosting for the pumpkin color. Now for this, the box of food coloring said to use 12 yellow drops and 4 red but that is really too bright of an orange so I adjusted it according to how dark of an orange I wanted it and I think it turned out pretty well. So, after frosting the cake I began to decorate the face. I used chocolate icing for the "carving" and I used the small cake decorating tubes to make it a bit easier but like I said you can also do the same thing with a ziploc baggie.

And there you have it. One way to celebrate Halloween, Millennium-style. I'm sure you will agree with me that Laura did some amazing work and I know you will join with me in wishing her and Frank a wonderfully, spooky Halloween. They wouldn't have it any other way I'm sure!

Just For Fun: Choose The Theme Of Our Next Themed Week!

We were absolutely delighted by the overwhelmingly positive response to Lucy Butler Week and it's my intention that we will do something similar in the not too distant future. Now our very dear friend, Laura, suggested it might be nice to let you guys choose the next theme and who am I to argue? She's too spooky to argue with after all.

After a trawl through the polls at TIWWA I came up with small list of those episodes that most regularly top the polls due to their approval rating with fans. The list is no means definitive, and subject to change, but we had to start somewhere, right?

Some fan-loved episodes had to be excluded due to their significant coverage here already or because there are plans to touch on them in the near future so I hope there's something for everyone in the choices here present. Remember, it's just for fun but you have until Wednesday 16th September to cast that all important vote and put yourself in the driving seat at BackToFrankBlack! Get voting!

This free podcast is available on a fortnightly basis via ITUNES. We'll naturally update you all on information on the podcast from this blog as well.

Frank and Laura, of spooktacular.com, have joined the campaign to return 'Frank Black' by promoting their campaign in their latest podcast. As both are avid fans of Millennium they had pledged their future support for the campaign and have promised to update their listeners in further editions. Spooktalkular.com is home to a podcast that delivers a weekly paranormal roundup. Laura is a true believer and Frank is more of a skeptic. Together they deliver an interesting contrast discussing TV shows such as Paranormal State, Ghost Hunters, Ghost Hunters International, Ghost Whisperer, Ghost Adventures, Most Haunted, Haunted History, Fear Itself and many more. From time to time, they even throw in a movie or book review. If it has to deal with the paranormal, chances are, they will be discussing it.
