Millennium Movie News: IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT!

As you are all too aware I really do regret taking anyone's time in the spotlight away from them, and I hope that you will continue to support Josef's efforts and comment on his video, but there are times when a hot potato lands in our lap and this is one of them.

Lance Henriksen has contacted us to inform us that he has been approached by independent investors interested in making a Millennium Movie. I don't need to tell anyone how important this news is to us. And here's where you come in. We are so close we can almost touch this and we need to use this opportunity to generate as much publicity as we are able.

Do not stop pushing: take this news to the forums you frequent, add it to your social network profiles, share it with your friends on twitter and lets see if we can get this to go viral. I know you won't let us down.

FRANK IS ALMOST BACK!

CHAMPAGNE TIME, well nearly. I can't quite believe this, I am absolutely flabbergasted. Who'd have dared to dream we could get so close.

Well done, everyone. I will keep sending postcards I promise.

OMG!

This is the best news so far!!!!!

Please people, SHARE THIS to everyone and lets make this bloody happen.

Mark, is there any chance that you could tell us more about what Lance told you? It sound rather abstract that a few investors approached him... =) I mean, who the heck will actually make the film? I doubt that we are talking about an independent film (copyright issues)...

Nevertheless, I cant wait to see how this will go down.

Misa.

Jósef Karl said... September 14, 2009 at 2:22 PM

If there are investors that are interested in a MM movie, independent or not.

This will awaken Fox from their slumber, they now should see that there are others that think MM is a good idea and maybe something good will come from this.

Fox has to take a hard look at themselves and think about the fans.

Rhonda, just checked out your picture and letter on Big Light! You are a beautiful soul Rhonda! What an amazing person you are and such an inspiration to everyone.

What support I give and our show gives to the campaign cannot compare to the support you have shown! I am so happy to have gotten to know you and enjoy talking to you. I am happy to call you friend! :)

The important point is that people are willing to invest what is a lot of money in the project. It certainly doesn't guarantee anything - so as Mark says in the post, it doesn't mean we can rest, it means everyone has to work harder at supporting this energised opportunity.

Very encouraging end to BacktoFrankBlack's first year!

RSWehman said... September 14, 2009 at 4:20 PM

I just had to read this entry again. It seems so surreal. It is so hard to believe that we are taking this giant step forward.
I have shared this with everyone I know including people who have no idea of what I am speaking. Their loss.

Keep up the wonderful work. I know I am getting a bit ahead of myself but I can't wait to start making arrangements for a premiere. I look forward to meeting ALL the BTFB/Millennium/Frank Black campaign supporters and fans.
Should(When) the time come(s) and this endeavour has reached its climax, I would like to shake hands and meet each and every one of you.
I know that's a lot to ask...but together, we can make this happen.

This Is Who We Are!!

If it hasn't already been posted about there I will share this update in the thread I have started on the forum for Uk sci-fi/genre magazine SFX.

This is great news if it furthers the push for a MM movie.

Jósef Karl said... September 14, 2009 at 5:46 PM

Now that is something I would like to be able to do, go to the premiere of the Millennium Movie, whenever it shows up.

I'll cross my fingers... :D

I did as many genre/scifi/horror sites as I could yesterday and I have donned my 'Frank's Army' battle gear and will do the same today. A polite email, a friendly mention in a Ten Thirteen related forum is really all it needs.

I thank you all for rallying to the cause, especially and brothers and sisters in the wider Ten Thirteen family for being so supportive.

Keep spreading the word and sending those postcards to Mr. Asbell.

We're not prepared to sit back and wait for a happy ending, right?

this news just made my day!!!

James McLean said... September 15, 2009 at 10:10 AM

What was amusing is how casually he let the news drop. Updated Lance with some of our news (which is pretty good - listen out to the podcast that should be up later for a run down) and then just calmly commented on what had been happening in his camp. The sound of a jaw dropping could be heard across town..

Anonymous said... September 15, 2009 at 10:36 AM

Fingers crosses that investors have ability to put up enough dollars to make a movie happen and a studio will come on board (does Fox really care about their rights, show was canceled 10 years ago and they've done nothing but DVD).
At least a TV movie should be a no brainer here.
People the time is now.

RSWehman said... September 15, 2009 at 11:05 AM

James...
I love it. He just filled you in on the news. Did he give you any more information? I'm sure if he had, you would share it with us.

Still Shakin' in My Shoes
Just mailed ten more postcards to Fox. Look out Mr. Steve Asbell...you are about to be inundated with mail!

THIS IS WHO WE ARE!!
Rhonda

Mark Ducker said... September 15, 2009 at 11:16 AM

@Rhonda LOl Oh poor Mr, Asbell. I put another five in the post myself this afternoon (getting pricey all this overseas mailing - but evidently worth it.) I wonder how long it will take Fox to scuttle over to Big Light and update them with a new address, for the broom cupboard this time.

Keep pushing!

Wave_Crest said... September 15, 2009 at 12:27 PM

Late last night I posted the news update in the thread I started on Horrormovies.ca as well.

I haven't contacted Shock Till You Drop, Dread Central and Bloddy-Disgusting about the news (or the campaign) as their contact section is tricky to understand.

Are the anonymous people scared of us? We don't bite!

Awaiting the new podcast with interest. The last one surprised me as I wasn't expecting it so soon.

Mark Ducker said... September 15, 2009 at 12:31 PM

Wave_Crest you are a star! We really appreciate all the hard work you do for this campaign. Thank you. Don't let up guys, please keep pushing. I know I haven't updated the Blog today but I wanted this news to stand as long as possible whilst we plug it and there is a lot of work to do that needs our full attention but normal service will resume shortly I'm sure.

WONDERFUL NEWS! LET'S GET IT DONE!!

Sean Stubblefield said... September 15, 2009 at 5:25 PM

This is indeed sweet & encouraging news. but although I don't want to rain on our parade, as someone familiar with how the film industry works, lacking specifics of the deal... it may be premature to get overly excited until anything is official with signed contracts. however, we can be tentatively optimistic.

Mark Ducker said... September 15, 2009 at 6:06 PM

Tentatively optimistic it is Sean :)
I understand where you're coming from and I spoke to our Fox insider today who echoed similar sentiments but, even so, she felt the that this was a significant breakthrough and one which we should grasp firmly and champion.

If anything, it has been endearing to see the buzz of so many good people, battle weary but ever hopeful, rallying to the cause.

Graham, Libby, Kimon, Darlene, Josef, Rhonda, Laura, Diego and others have spent the better part of the day trying to get news of this out as far and wide as they are able and we have a reinvigorated campaign team ready to fight the good fight and fighting they are.

I've received emails, tweets, PM's and more besides and it has been a good, but busy day, in the Millennium Community and I hope the enthusiasm and drive continues.

As I have said, ad nauseum, we won't bring Frank back, you will.

I really do think we stand a chance!

Laurent. said... September 15, 2009 at 8:00 PM

Hard to not overstate how great this piece of news sounds, because I'm so freakin' excited to hear that men in suits could be on board for this.

About time that someone listens. Don't let the light fade out; the time is near.

Randal Graves said... September 16, 2009 at 7:36 AM

This is the best news this side of I just won the Powerball and can fund the Millennium movie myself. Wow. Dude.

Bayles said... September 16, 2009 at 9:53 AM

The best kind of news! I know not to put the cart before the horse but this is the kind of thing everyone is working for. Let's hope for more big announcements to come.

In the meantime everyone keep your noses to the grind stone and don't let up!
