HERE'S DIRT'S THING! DIRT'S TOP FIVE!

Ladies and gentlemen it's time, once again, for our masked avenger, wrestlemaniac and super powered reviewer DiRT to cast his x-ray vision upon another episode of Millennium and direct his considerable following in our direction in the process. This time it's a little break from tradition with DiRT giving us his top five Millennium episodes of all time!

Top Five eh? Where do you begin? Sixty seven episodes of sheer brilliance spanning three wonderful seasons each with their own highs and lows: it's no mean feat to select just five from those and I'm glad the task didn't fall to me that's for sure. No two lists of this kind ever look the same and as people's opinions change all the time there's no doubt this one will look very different if we asked DiRT the same question some time down the line but, for now, here it is. Dirt's top five!

So now you know. DiRT's top five and the thing we want to know is did you agree with his choices? From the sixty seven available options did our erstwhile reviewer pick the best five on offer? If you had to compile your own top five how would your own list look? So don't be shy, share your thoughts with us and be sure that DiRT will be following your comments and will add his own as well.

As always, every new video we add to Youtube, or is
added to Youtube for us, reaches out to a whole new audience and may find a Millennium who never knew of our campaign in the process. Don't forget, keep sending those letters and postcards to Mr. Steve Asbell.

As always, lend your considerable support to the man and go visit his own websites and find out what it's all about. Remember, every video made for the this campaign is an indispensable way of reaching out to a potential new campaigner.

A great video and a great list. I agree with the man, how do you pick five? I would pick five and then pick five again and change it a third time ad infinitum. If we do get a Millennium Movie then Owls/Roosters certainly has the scope and scale a movie could employ but you can bet your bottom dollar it won't happen like that. Wasn't Matryoshka all but butchered in re-write after re-write as the original script continued certain themes from those two episodes and that didn't fit with the new vision for the show in the third season.

Nice to see The Mikado anywhere in the top five. I would have probably opted for Lamentation, A Room With No View and The Judge somewhere in the list as well but even as I write that I've changed my mind. Maybe a top 67 would have been better he he.

"it's no mean feet..."

I'm pretty sure you meant:
"it's no mean feat..."

Unless I have mean feet - can you smell them from there?

LOL there's a proof reading position available at the campaign right now my friend. We could use someone with your skills :)

★☆Giving the masked dude heaps of kudos for The Mikado at number one. I would have had a few from season one in the list but The Mikado deserves it position. Imitated to death and still the best of its kind★☆

LOL DiRT! Put the blame on my hey? hehe...great video man. I always wondered what your top 5 were.

akbrowncoat@yahoo.com said... November 12, 2009 at 4:28 PM

Wow. I think I would have to swap your #3 pick with your # 1 pick, but aside from that point that is relative... you are right on! I would def say your no 1 choice embodies MM-esque content.

That said, picking five... I will just go w/your choices (aside for the above notation of course)

Of the episodes of Millennium I have seen my top 5 episodes are:

Jose Chung's Doomsday Defense
The Mikado
Dead Letters
Anamnesis
Monster
Blood Relatives.

Good list and very well presented and I imagine it was very hard to compile. I couldn't do it myself but I have to acknowledge the appearance of Owls & Roosters in the list. Those whipping themselves into a veritable frenzy over Dan Brown's work need look no further to where it all began. Anamnesis probably deserves a mention as does A Room With No View but otherwise I champion The Mikado at number one. Evidently no S3 episodes made the grade and I wouldn't argue with that. I would have argued to hell and back with Dirt if Closure or Omerta made the list. I look forward to Thursdays all the time now. Dirt, you are a master craftsman. Long may you reign.

Where's Anamnesis? Beware of The Dog? Walkabout? Oh I could go on but an impressive list despite the odds. As long as Human Essence didn't make the top 5 I'm content.

Ok, just finished watching Dirt's video and I look forward to seeing what you come up with. :) I think you are a funny guy. I don't agree all your choices but if I did then that would be boring right? We all have differnet opinions and that is what makes us different and unique.. :) Ok, my top five Millennium episodes would be, drum roll please? hehehee

5. Antipas- Gotta love a naughty nanny. :)

4. Midnight of the Century-Its Christmas and Lara is in it. :)

3. The Curse of Frank Black- Its Halloween perfection. :)

2. Monster- Gotta love a creepy kid. :)

1. The Wild and the Innocent-In my opinion this is acting at its best, the girl who plays Maddy is great! This is one of those episodes that is heartwarming and makes you root for the Maddy who has been beaten down by men all her life and now she finds the strength through the love for her Angel that she will do anything for him. And I think the interaction between her and Frank is superb, almost like father and daughter and Frank is the only man that has been decent to her in her life. :)

So, there are my top 5! :)

I thought Lamentation would be in the top five. Maybe in the same way Owls and Roosters were as a joint entry maybe?

Isn't it hard though?

BEER----> That was an awesome video by Dirt. His choices and descriptions are great. Of course
'There can be only One' and he chose my favorite as numero uno.

Silly me, I put six episodes instead of five!

RSWehman said... November 13, 2009 at 4:57 PM

Ok, Here they are...

1.) The Sound of Snow

2.) Borrowed Time

3.) Midnight of the Century

4.) Luminary

5.) Walkabout

I had to think about this for a long time. All 67 episodes have something deep inside that attract me to each and every one of them. I like Monster alot but had to replace it in my list with Luminary. I'm afraid that has a lot to do with Jósef and that wonderful video. :)

As an honorable mention, I have to say that Weeds and Exegesis are also at the top of the list. I better stop now or I'll end up naming them all.

This Is Who Are!!

Laura, don't knock Wave_Crest.

If DiRT can choose 6 episodes then he can too.

Maybe I should pick "2 parters" so I can have more episodes in my top list.

Like the likes of...
Paper Dove/The Beginning and the End
Owls/Roosters
The Fourth Horseman/The Time is Now
The Innocents/Exgenesis
Via Dolorosa/Goodbye to All That

Those are pretty much two-parters.
Actually, when you think about it.
There could be a cool study on how well these two-parters complement each others, how the connect and if they're consistent in tone or if first part is better than the second or vice versa.

Still have to think about top 5, it's hard...will have to get back to you on that.

Cheers from Iceland!

Hey to all Millennium/Frank Black fans.
I have mailed letters to Fox as described on this website.
I have been watching this site for about 4 months and finally listened to my first pod cast, of course I picked the interview with Lance. And yes - great surprise - at the end of the interview.

I will post more on this blog from now on.

To pick only five, to seriously ponder that will create a stripped gear in my head for sure. So from "the gut" I would list my favorite five as:
Mikado
Hand of St. Sebastian
Skull and Bones
Owls and Roosters [yeah I know 2 separate but I can not separate them]
Powers, Principalities, Thrones, & Dominions

Randal Graves said... November 19, 2009 at 12:35 PM

It really is all but impossible to narrow it down to five, and like everyone's list, mine might change next week.

Lamentation, Pilot, Maranatha, Jose Chung's 'Doomsday Defense' are the top four, and there are about 10 tied for fifth.
