Lara Means Week: Wednesday - From Means to Win!

Joselyn Roja's is one of the leading vidders in the X-Files fandoms and closely associated to our dear sexy friends at X-FilesNews.com. She's done some awesome vids for X-Files (please check them out here), and we're delighted she's found time to do one for us on this week's subject - you've guessed it - Lara Means. We've had some good videos on this site before, but I think you will agree that this is probably one of the best that we've had. A special thanks to Joselyn for creating such a fantastic tribute to a fantastic character!

PLUS.... COMPETITION!

Also, Wednesday marks the day of our Lara Means competition! First prize will be a special signed season two box set of Millennium. The runner-up will get a signed Millennium photo.

The tag? There isn't one - no question, just send us your name and address to info@backtofrankblack.com, headed "Lara Means Week Competition" and we'll print those names out, throw them into a hat or similar receptacle and see who Troy pulls out! Couldn't be simpler!

I'm always in awe of the season 2 finale for it's time and that scene Frank and Lara share when he thanks her, priceless. Season 2 has remained my favorite in all television drama and that particular cast with Cloke added into the mix are the reason. But hey, that's just my opinion...which is an unfiltered correct unbiased law of gravity type of one. The video was cool, brought back that wicked stare Cloke had.

I have seen some videos on this site before when I get a chance to stop by, but this is the best I have seen. Loved the editing of the video and the ending was amazing.

I really liked the best of Lara Mean’s video, and I think the Cranberries Zombie song is a prefect fit. Kristen Cloke was a great addition to Millennium family and I was always wondering if Lara and Frank were ever going to get romantically involved. The Millennium episode Midnight of the Century, which is now a Christmas tradition for me, touched on the possibility of a romantic tie with Frank. Props to Joselyn Roja's for putting together such an awesome video. You guys ROCK!

Thank you very much to Michael, Lara and Democracy for the comments! And I do agree with Democracy, Frank & lara would have been a GREAT couple!

Here's my thing . . . Lara Means was the best character on Millennium(second only to Frank Black, of course). When she saw her 'visions' her expression would transform from wonder to sadness and then to dread. Only as we learned more about Lara, did we understand. Thanks to Kristen Cloke and her portrayal. Only wish she had remained a viable character on the show for a longer time.

The second season of Millennium brought the series to life for me. The genius of Morgan and Wong and Morgan (let's not forget Glen), utterly walloped me every week.

The addition of Kristen Cloke as Lara Means gave Frank Black a true kindred spirit to face not only the Millennium, but the vagaries of the Millennium Group. And in so doing, Kristen brought a warmth, humanity and light to the role that served as an apt counterpoint to Frank's darkness.

I missed the Season 2 Team when Morgan and Wong departed. But I especially missed the departure of Lara Means and Kristen's powerful performances.

And here we are, over 10 years later, continuing to celebrate the series, its characters, and actors. How's that for a testament to the enduring power and artistry of all things Millennium?

And that's my thing.....

Once more, true artistic properties surpass the test of time. Kristen gave us that on this show. And yes, It was sad to see her go... but as was said for The X Files nothing really dies... movie maybe? --> I HOPE SO!!!

Joselyn Rojas, I applaud your video.

Great choice of music and cuts.

While, I know I try to do as little to change the appearance of the video, the shots from the show, it felt right for this video...

What intrigues me most, is how much time she had to do this video? Did she rip the video herself or did she had the episode files all ready and handy on deck before hand to import to the editing software?

These are the thoughts of a vidder...

Cheers from Iceland!

An amazing video. I was amazed at the song choice and how it perfectly highlighted the range of the performance from Ms. Cloke. Here presence was definitely missed during the third season.

Just caught up with this. Very well done!

Joselyn Rojas said... June 17, 2010 at 11:57 AM

Jósef!

I had about 10 days to make the video. Spent 3 days choosing the song - hahahahhaahahaha - like listening to my who chollection while rewatching S2 and trying to fit one as much as possible. The episodes I already had them (have all 3 seasons).
Basic editing - 5 days all in all.
LOL I gave the final video 2 days before deadline LMAO Needless to say I did not sleep nor did anything else during that time. I am a medical doctor and I am doing a masters Degree, so I used all my free time here!
BUT I AM PROUD OF IT. I do love the show, and Lara is a Gift.

BTW Josef, I do like your videos! Have seen all I could get my hands on!

Cheers from Venezuela!

Just realised I've not commented myself - beautifully done. Not slaved to the material as some video composites are (when every aspect of the visual is matched to the aural), but relevant throughout and nicely edited. I've always been thrilled that the videos we've had on BacktoFrankBlack carry such skill and subtlety and I'm thrilled we've managed to drag your talents into "the Group" without any kicking and screaming. Super work. Loved every minute - for a song I'd grown very weary of (I recall we covered it many times in music college), you've given it extra life! Kudos!
