An absolutely incredible interview Lance. It was an honor talking with you on the podcast. James and I had a great time. We want to thank you for taking the time to chat with us. Your support of this campaign is tremendous! We hope to have you back on the show soon!

What a wonderful interview. It is a pleasure to have you so closely associated with the this campaign and always a pleasure to hear you speak. This is who we are!

Thanks all you guys for being able to let us hear Lance speak frankly about Frank Black. And thanks to Lance for taking time out of his busy schedule. It's amazing how you can pull it off, all of you, to make this happen. That you're all free at the same time, because everybody is busy.

I know you weren't asking for an essay, but once I get started it's hard to stop. :D

Thanks for taking my question, very interesting to hear what he said about his relationship with Terry in season 3 and one of my favorite moments of season 2, where a blond Frank Black punches someone in the nuts hehe

I also really didn't like much this turn in season 3. We all like Peter Watts and now he suddenly evil, and we all know that's not the case. So, I had a hard time as well with that aspect of season 3.

What a joy to hear the surprise near the end.

And you're so right about the importance about comments. And just to know that everything that comes your way, Lance and other people will see it. Which makes my work all the more satisfying.

I better shut up now.

And James, here's one for the next podcast which Troy should be able to recognize and the rest of the world:

Cheerio!

Don't be dark, let's make this happen, let's make some noise!

Thank-you, Lance for giving your time for insight on your career, and on Millennium. Let's hope FOX listens to this campaign and bring Frank Black back.

For starters one word...superb. I know it sounds cliched, but that was the best interview so far. Lance seems so down to earth and isn't big-headed and full of himself compared to other big screen and TV actors.

Highlights for me? Hearing Lance talking about Millennium of course, Beautiful Wave (it made me think of David Lynch films. Now that would be interesting, Lance in a David Lynch film!), the film script auction idea, the discussion about Lance's scenes as Frank with Brittany Tiplady as Jordan (I love that anecdote from the pilot episode, one of my favourites), the surprise guest (although I thought it was going to be Brittany Tiplady. However I wasn't disappointed by it being Klea Scott) and as always Jim and Troy's banter.

Another word to mention in a future podcast - 'bostin'. It's a word used in the West Midlands when you're describing something as being great. It sounds a bit like 'Boston'.

Whilst I haven't seen a lot of the third season I like what I have seen of it, but I respect Lance's opinions and views on the season.

Another highlight and something I was SO glad was mentioned, was that scene from "Jose Chung's Doomsday Defense", when Frank is reading a book by Jose Chung. Then follows a dream sequence where he is wearing a light-coloured wig, comes out with words which don't make sense - he's grinning at the same time - and headbutts a man in his groin. I thought he headbutted him but he punched him in the groin. Anyway, that scene creased me (made me laugh out loud). Whilst listening to that part of Lance's podcast interview I was LOL at the retelling of that scene.

Absolutely brilliant. And I hope the podcasts continue for a long time to come.

I thought the episode being discussed in the next podcast was always pronounced "Anem-mesis". Also, and it's an interesting bit of trivia, this was the only Millennium episode which Frank Black (Lance Henriksen) did not appear in.

They say, whoever they is that "Anticipation is always greater than the prize" but not in this case, they were both equally wonderful! I have been anxiously awaiting this interview and was so happy to get to listen to it today. What a fun, emotional and dear podcast this has been. :)

Lance seems like a very genuine and down to earth man. A very earthy and in touch with the Universe sorta soul. :)

Thank you Lance for your time and generous spirit, it is greatly appreciated.

Oh and I have to see that movie Beautiful Wave, it sounds so special!

Tickety tockety toodle pip loo or whatever haha Lol Goodbye and thanks.

Great interview guys.Having Lance talk so positively about continuing Millennium really gets me hopeful.
I will have to admit I think there was a tear in my eye when you got Lance and Klea on the phone together. Bravo!

It is absolutely fantastic what you guys are doing. I think that anyone who doesn't have faith in Millennium being brought back should think of the success of Russell T Davis in bringing Doctor Who back. He was told that he would be committing career suicide. A few BAFTA awards later and Doctor Who is a massive hit and the critics are laid silent. I think Frank needs to get some closure with Avatar...

James McLean said... August 9, 2009 at 5:24 PM

It was a very easy interview. I like to see it as part two of the "giants" - Frank Spotnitz, major, major player on the crew, and Lance Henriksen, major, major, major player on the cast. So I really recommend anyhow who hasn't listened to Frank's - please do so and leave a comment. I'll add a stream to his blog entry too so it will be easy to check out.

Thanks to Lance - and with any luck you'll be hearing more for him in the future!

AMAZING !!!! one of the best things about the Millennium dvd's to me was the chance to hear Lance Henrikson & co talk off camera and these podcasts have been like the greatest extention to that, Mark Snow was brilliant, Klea what a woman, Spotnitz was just so humble and such a nice guy and it was so interesting to hear him amazing person, truly amazing. Polito was fantastic.
Today we got Lance, I'm buzzing, he was everything I imagined and more, what a guy, Lance if you're reading thanks so much, love ya man !
Troy and Jim and Mark thank you all for all the hard work making this happen, this is the best thing that's happend in a long while, I'd love to see Millennium again, whether TV Movie or Theatrical film.
Hey guys thanks for playing that terrible tune I sent haha, wow had I known you would have sent it to almighty LH I would have tried a little harder.
You guys made my day this week again, Backtofrankblack is so far making my year.

I don't know where to begin... or how.
This was the most AMAZING interview. Lance, you are a legend to me. I simply love you to pieces and I can't thank you enough, in spirit, for taking the time to make this interview happen. I felt so much and I'm just... I'm just grateful and exhilarated. I know I'm letting my heart talk but this was magical. It feels like a dream to me for I've always wished for this. For Millennium to continue. And hearing you share your enthusiasm and your love... amazing. Simply amazing. I should stop now because I can keep on forever, gushing ever so foolishly.
Thank you so much.
And thank you James and Troy for the possibilities, for the gift of sharing this interview with us fans.
This is who we are.

In faith,
Djuna

Hi Gents,

Fantastic interview once again, well done. Great to hear Lance again and his continuing passion for the series and the fans. And a great moment with Klea and Lance talking again after so long.

We'll be with you all the way, Lance.

Frank will return!

Wonderful!! What an interview with Lance. He seems like such a caring and genuine individual. I would like to thank him for entertaining us over the years! And thank you BTFB for putting in the time and effort to bring us such great content!

I was just watching "Somehow, Satan Got Behind Me" on Chiller the other day; I marveled at how much Lance could say with so few lines as he did in that episode:

(To the demon) "You must be so lonely."

Great interview. Lance is such a generous person to take so much time and to be so "real." What a tremendous guy.

Guys--keep up the good work! I'm off now to listen to the Spotnitz epiode now.

And Lance...thank you so much for your great work.

Thanks to Lance, Troy and Jim/James for this. These interviews... conversations are a truly an incredible gift to the fans. The casual, professional tone really shines through on this one in particular. I especially enjoy the conversational tangents these interviews take. Kudos to Lance for sharing and to Troy and James/Jim for their excellent editing and hosting.

Thanks to Mr. Henriksen for sharing the time and showing such generous support for the campaign. I couldn't be more in favor of additional shows with him and other cast & crew discussing things. Looking at this and the previous interviews, I have to wonder whether much of the quality of the show is reflected in the unpretentiousness, intelligence and appreciation of the endeavor that the people involved seem to convey.... combined with a large dose of humor for good measure.

Adding redundancy to the thread, it was a treat to hear one of my top 3 Millenium scenes discussed: Jose Chung's Dream Sequence. When I first saw it, I hadn't laughed that hard in months and rewound it three times. "Then thanks, but no thanks. Whatever goes in the peepers goes into the neurobiology..."

And, to echo Mr. McLean's comment at the end: Wodehouse is fantastic, and the televised versions with Stephen Fry and Hugh Laurie were very well done. Stephen Fry would be a great guest star for the upcoming Millenium project. Perhaps as a manager at a Tesco who saw the villain (while the villain was on vacation in Hull) and gets interviewed over a camera phone by Frank and Geibelhouse. Actually, that's a terrible idea... but Fry isn't.

I can only proffer a Grand Canyon-sized echo of what everyone else says. One more stellar interview and Lance is just about the coolest dude around.

Ok I admit it, I'm new to Millenium cause I suck.. lol not really, I loved this interview with Lance. Its great insight into the whole other side of what he is as an actor.
Great Job guys!

Fantastic interview with Lance, thank you so much!

Wonderful surprise at the end, that was a stroke of genius, I'm so glad it worked out!

What an awesome interview! Lance seems to be such a down to earth kind person. Just what I imagined he would be like in real life. I have always admired his acting abilities and have seen almost every film he has appeared in. When I saw he was in the lead role as Frank Black in Millennium. I was so happy to see him on prime time and thought he did such an excellent job playing Frank Black. Millennium was the best series ever on television. When it ended. I felt no closure. It was like reading a really good book that ended without an ending. The essence of the show stayed with me like a colorful vivid dream you wake up from, that lingers with you all day long. Truly the series ended far to soon. The plot still has such potential. Twentieth Century Fox would be missing out on big bucks not bring it back as a series, or in the very least making a motion picture out of it.

Whooh...there... I feel so much better now that I got all that off my chest! =)
