Lucy Butler Week Begins: Love is Blue!

Allow me to introduce you all to a week of devilry and debauchery (maybe not so much of the latter) in honour of Frank Black's most memorable nemesis, the Devil's liege herself, Lucy Butler. I am a huge admirer of that character and of the outstanding work that Sarah-Jane Redmond contributed to our beloved show and it is an honour to be spending a week in her nefarious company (Lucy that is, not Sarah-Jane of course.)

In time honoured tradition we kick off our week of themed Blog entries with the music video we know you have all been waiting for. Josef has crossed the abyss and braved the foul stench of Hades itself in order to assemble this infernal cinematic offering. Grab the Apple Spiced Pancakes folks, it's time for Lucy Butler!

Now I know I say this every week, and mean it, but this is undoubtedly Josef's finest work to date and I do hope you waited right to the end of the credits? You didn't? Time to view it again methinks. So here's hoping you will share you comments with Josef as always, every new video he makes brings a potential new Millennium fan to our attention so we value, highly, his contribution. If he doesn't deserve kudos for one of the most mesmerising video intros I have ever seen then I don't know who does frankly.

So, here's looking forward to a week of fun, competitions, an exclusive interview and more besides. Till then, well, love is blue isn't it?

Mark, you are spot on as usual, brilliant video Jósef! Perfect timing, imaginative introduction and the Easter egg at the very end is brilliant!

All hail the divine seductress that is Lucy Butler!

Methinks the best is yet to come!

Hmmmmm, no Josef tag indeed. Fell free to summon thy legion of demons old chap to dish out a punishment worthy of Lucy herself.

Thanks Nyakototo for your comments, we really appreciate them!

★☆WHOA!★☆ Absolutely banging. Oh I LOVE Lucy Butler. The beginning is so trippy, I watched it twice before I even carried on with the rest. This is the BEST video you have ever done.

Long live Video Man and long live Lucy. I ❤ Lucy!

Now that's what I call a damn good music video. Couldn't have picked a better subject. Sarah-Jane Redmond is absolutely beautiful and Lucy Butler is a creation any actress should be rightly proud of. All of Lucy's episodes were amongst the best the show produced. If you guys get your movie, and you damn well deserve it, I hope Sarah-Jane makes an appearance in the role she made her own.

A round of applause to Josef for such a well edited, thought out, conceptual little piece. Very, very clever.

WOW...this has to be the best video yet. Lucy Butler has to be the sexiest devil ever. Hope you didn't get burned in Hades, Josef. If you didn't go all the way, you certainly went far enough to be touched by SATAN!

My visions are telling me that the best is yet to come. How are you going to top yourself after this incredible video? I suppose it is a good thing that you don't have to worry about that. Each video you've created stirs an abundance of emotions.

Wonderfully creative and exceptional!

This is going to be a Love Is Blue kinda week. Awesome!

This video is scarier then the episodes themselves. I agree with the Old Man:

"All hail the divine seductress that is Lucy Butler!

Methinks the best is yet to come!"

Awesome - a little dark viewing - but awesome. Keep them coming.

That was ingenious! Unbelievable job "Josef"! The timing of the video with the nuances of the music was impeccable. All scenes were set to excellent sections of the song and I loved the part that was set to Frank searching the aisles at the grocery store. It definitely helped convey a "frenzied chase" feeling to the scene. Loved it and thanks for creating something that helps us see deeper into the Lucy Butler character!

INCREDIBLE! Didn't think this campaign's Blog could get any better, it just has. You, Josef, have talent!

Brilliant, brilliant, brilliant! Lucy is definitely my favourite Millennium Character. Sarah-Jane Redmond deserves all the praise and attention she gets for being such a wonderful actress.

Wonderfully put together, perfect timing and the after credits bit is genius. Give that man a cigar!

Oh...thanks for the comments, didn't think I would get so many...so soon.

I was a little disappointed I couldn't just focus on A Room with No View, alas I ran out of clips I considered relevant for the music video. So it became a clip show, with everyone's favorite devil, Lucy Butler.

But I think it works well enough, I'm proud of the intro and the outro though, so it's not that bad.

And don't you know it, Mondays are blue, but because of her, the rest of the week is blue as well.

But I'm glad you think it's so awesome, it's always the creators that get cold feet or blue feet or whatever about their work...

ps: More comments are ALWAYS welcome :P

Cheers from Iceland!

I love what your doing here BTFB, Lucy Butler week is genius. All power to Eth (Mark) for getting it together. You go from strength to strength. Keep it coming!

This man has talent and it doesn't hurt that he is using the finest female talent from the whole franchise as a basis for this video. Sarah-Jane Redmond is one hell of an actress, achingly beautiful and this video has taken an icon and mader her even more iconic -- if that's possible. Well done to all concerned. Really enjoying this week.

The best one yet Josef! That scene from Lamentation where Bletcher looks up the staircase to see Lucy's true nature is still the scariest thing I've seen on TV! Awesome job.
Thanks!
