LUCY BUTLER WEEK - DAY FIVE - A ROOM WITH NO REVIEW!

As you know, it has always been of great importance to me to increase this campaign's presence in the form of video promotion and content. Josef has taken that mantle and run with it and we are proud to add another good soul to our team of growing video alchemists. Comics, collectibles, entertainment and wrestling guru DiRT has a number of successful review channels and websites of his own and happens to be a Millennium fan as well.

He has kindly agreed to lend his enjoyable 'masked avenger' style approach to Millennium, releasing a new review for us every Thursday. As it's Lucy Butler Week what better place to start with but 'A Room With No View.'

Whilst our new found friend and ally does the hard work behind the scenes here's where you come in. Agree with his review? Disagree with his review? We want to hear from you whatever the opinion but, most importantly, we want you to thank him and make him more than welcome in the process. I, for one, will be looking forward to each Thursday to see what each new review brings.

So lend your considerable support to the man and go visit his own websites and find out what it's all about. Remember, every video made for the this campaign is an indispensable way of reaching out to a potential new campaigner. Welcome, DiRT!

unforgettable review, DiRT. extremely original in everything, from the background decoration to the picture-in-picture clips and the moody music.
one of the most inspiring things about this campaign is to see people like you sharing their passion and creativity. it somehow makes the show itself better, and it obviously makes the fan community stronger, more united, and continues to give us hope that if so much hard work and love is being put into this, something good must, in the end, come of it. and if it doesn't (which i doubt), having shared the ride with talents like the amazing Josef and yourself is an equal pleasure.
one thing i would like to highlight about your review is when you talk about seeing the episode many years later. i think you touched one of the main points of Millennium here: its appeal to a mature, grown up audience. the DEPTH of the ideas presented is what makes it a fascinating show. and the viewer has to be someone capable to plunge into these depths.
congratulations

What a nice video, expertly made. Short and to the point. Great job!

I agree with you on this episode.

I remember I was watching this episode on DVD a few years ago, and some friends of mine stopped by. And one of my friends had the same response as many people did, he didn't get the point or that this wasn't terrifying.

I told him something along the lines that if everyone were "ordinary", the world wouldn't change. And certainly not for the better. These were all people who would do great things, make the world a little better. A tiny step towards the right branch of the outcome the battle between good and evil.

Now, I'm pretty sure that some of the victims were girls as well. They just weren't shown, I may be wrong about this.

I honestly can't see how the episode would have been better if Frank Black was a more active in this episode. Lucy Butler has always been one step ahead of Frank Black and that's what makes her more devious. She's unpredictable.

I'm looking forward to the next review.

ps: That mask is just creepy, or is it just me?

Cheers from Iceland!

First, compliments on the review, very cool! Second, my thoughts on the episode (completely "off the cuff" here so forgive me if it's not coherent or something LOL)- I think that Lucy, as the demon that she is, is trying to wear down the psyches of the future "leaders" so that out of fear, they don't have minds of their own, but can be easily swayed to follow the path of evil. Frank is an established leader and warrior on the side of good so he is much harder, if not impossible, for Lucy to conquer, as we see in "Antipas". To prevent the future leaders from becoming "warriors on the side of good" like Frank, she is trying to break them before they are strong in their own convictions. Just as Frank ackowledges to Lucy in "Antipas", "Fear is what you want in us. I came here to tell you I'm not afraid", he is telling her that he knows that evil can ultimately win through fear, but because of what he has accomplished and seen in his life, he is way beyond "fear". She knows this and alludes to the one thing that may cause fear in Frank, the question of Jordan's safety. Knowing that a man set in his convictions, such as Frank, is nearly impossible for evil to conquer, in "A Room With No View", Lucy Butler tries to "corrupt" the minds of future "men" while they are still boys and unsure of their true convictions and beliefs. Ultimately, she is trying to prevent the evolution of any future "Frank Blacks" that can resist evil's temptation.

I hope that made sense as I'm half asleep but that's what I ultimately got out of the episode, and of the Lucy Butler character. She enjoys Frank because he's such a challenge and maybe considers him an equal in that respect (good vs evil) but she doesn't want any more "challenges" like him to be produced by the human race.

Thanks for listening to my rambling :) Lisa

I have to say that was mooooost enjoyable ♥ The whole notion of our very own mystery man is very tantalising, could be Chris Carter himself uh? (A girl can dream)

I thought it was well executed and brilliantly delivered, not an ''ahh'' or an ''uhm'' to be had which is no mean feat. I would have been tripping on my words I'm sure. The additional on-screen graphics were very professional, one more talented guy to add the pool.

Personally I was happy with a little Frank-down-time. I would have felt robbed of an opportunity not to have such an enigmatic character fleshed out and in such a creepy way I might add. I have to give loving praise to the writer for creating some of Lucy's best ever dialogue.

It's ever so easy to go 'human meets demon equals lots of snarling and slashing' but Millennium chose a much more contemplative approach to what Lucy was trying to achieve than that and it is still ahead of its time in that approach. Demons want to make us ordinary? That's bold in my book.

Well done to Video Man No. 2. A very enjoyable video. Welcome to the Legion *snarff snarff*

"Demons want to make us ordinary?" and that's also one of the themes of "José Chung's Doomsday Defense"!

^I agree and is one a number of themes of that season as a whole if I may be so bold.

What an enjoyable review from Dirt, it looks great, the content is rich and it feels like an event rather than reading a few words on the page. I'm also very pleased to hear that he will be contributing these on a regular basis as it will be nice to see his thoughts and compare them to my own.

Again, a stunning campaign. Has Millennium ever been as well supported and enjoyable with regards to its fans as it is now.

Keep up the stellar work everyone.

A very talented individual who clearly has a gift for presenting (something I have none of). Diego is so right. Something really does have to come from all of this. Fox, Carter, are you watching all this?

Welcome DiRT to the BTFB fold. I like the synopsis of A Room With No View for it is direct and to the point. Yes, this episode is creepier and more unusual but also enlightens the viewer to Lucy Butler and Legion.

This episode tells us who Lucy was and leads us toward our belief of whom she became.

I look forward to next weeks review. Wonder what it could be??

The creepy mask fits right into the backdrop, doesn't it?

Nice to see additional video footage and especially nice to see that take the form of reviews. Who'd have thought that eleven years later people would still be so interested in this magical little show. Well done to all involved.

I could not agree more with the first response to this video. Millennium is a show with such depth and often, in my opinion, a single sitting is not enough to appreciate what's on offer. Only after repeated viewings do new aspects and dimensions to the stories and characters present themselves and that's why Millennium has the longevity it has. It is by no means a throwaway show.

Loved that review. Not the best Lucy episode but still a very good slice of TV pie. A very enjoyable video. Glad there's more.

What a week!!

"Video Killed The Radio Star"

Y'know, you're right. You do need some more video input. The XF girls have a regular smorgasbord of movies to play with and this is a step in the right direction. I saw on Big Light that a cast member has been interviewed by video (right?) and that's a good thing and not an easy one to achieve I would think.

Nice to see some variety and so many people rallying to the cause and big 'applause' to dirt for keeping it bite-size. It's cut and thrust and anything over half an hour and count me out :)

Keep up the good work one and all.
